Martinique is a Caribbean island, forming part of the Small Antilles, an arc of islands stretching from the Virgin Islands to Venezuela.
The other islands that make up the Small Antilles are the Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, St Martin, St Bartholomew, Anguilla, Antigua, Montserrat, Dominica, St Lucia, St Vincent, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago.
