Hi to all our visitors and welcome to Martinicaonline.it, the first and only Italian / English on line guide dedicated entirely to Martinique!

We have received many emails asking us who we are, where we are, if we are a travel agency….so we have decided to put together this page to help you get know the authors of the site and how to best use martinicaonline.it.

We would like to present ourselves, Stephane and Michela . We live in Martinique.

For many year we have traveled the world, discovering new places and cultures: Australia, Nth America, Mexico, Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Caribbean islands.
Having traveled far and wide, we discovered Martinique and have haven’t wandered any further…… An island that welcomes you and invokes warm emotions, Martinique is the perfect location to spend a vacation as you wish . Though an island in total tranquility, Martinique concentrates into very little space everything you could desire for a made to measure holiday

We are not a travel agency nor a tour operator…

The site martinicaonline.it is a guide realized to promote Martinique to the public and provide suggestions as to how bets spend a holiday on the island, where to stay, recommended restaurants, things to do and with whom.

All of the people contained in the site were selected by us according to specific criteria as to quality. To the more deserving restaurants special attention was given and all of the activities selected for the site were tried and tested by us. The accommodation proposals were chosen according to the same criteria.

A few words about Martinique

Martinique is an island for everyone, big and small, rich and poor, easy going and active.
For those who wish to spend their holiday on the beach worshipping the sun you are spoiled for choice of beaches, be they highly developed or untouched; those interested in history or nature will be surprised by the historical and cultural legacy of the island as well as the abundance of natural beauty varied and spectacular.
Those who look to a holiday as an opportunity to engage in sports and activities, Martinique is the ideal place: trekking, canyoning, mountain biking , gliding, para-sailing, kite-surfing, surfing and body boarding, diving and sailing are but a few of the possible activities possible on Martinique.

Don’t miss activities such as quad biking through tropical forests, horseback along beaches, off road tours ….for those looking to enjoy themselves you are spoilt for choice.

For those who love Rum, it won’t take you long to find yourself immersed in this fascinating product and the historic distilleries. Tastings of some of the best rum in the world and visits to the plantations could occupy your entire holiday should you choose!

We remind you that Martinique is a part of France and offers you all of the security of Europe. You can pass your time in complete tranquility as you wish, be it 2 weeks in the forest as Indiana Jones or sipping a cocktail at a beachside bar, waiting for the sunset to choose which restaurant to dine at.
Here we are a part of Europe but you should not come expecting to find a piece of France transplanted in the Caribbean, as many would have you believe ….. we are Caribbean…. A mix, difficult to put into words, of the of rich Caribbean qualities with a distinctly European influence.
You have to come to Martinique to appreciate it.
